Keeps you on track

I read Starting Strength and committed to the process. This app is all you need to follow the program, record your progress and keep you on track to your goals. This from a 50-something part-time athlete and full-time parent that needed to start over with strength training and wanted to do it the right way. Great app.

Top Notch

I really like this app. Just started using the Rip method in the gym. This app keeps track of your progress and has video and written instruction. One of my favorite features is the instructions on the weights to use while you are preparing for your work set.

Great app but...

Every person looking to be strong should be doing this program. Period. It is the greatest tool to get every man to 200+ pounds and lifting like a monster. BUT, the app is consistently crashing at the start page. Please fix!

Awesome App

Perfect companion for the book. Everything is incorporated nicely. Only complaint is the arrows can be a little particular, meaning you have to tap, weight about a second and tap again to get the arrows to function properly and not just click at you. All in all, well worth the cost, especially for a garage gym focusing on barbell only workouts.

Great weightlifting app

This is a great app. Ive wanted to start the Starting Strength program for a while but didnt how what weight to start at and how to manage the warm-up sets/workout sets and increase weights appropriately. This calculates all of this and also challenges you by increasing the weights for the next workout.

This is the best phone application and best lifting program. Prepare for gainzzzz.

Best app based trading journal I have found

The app is simple and easy to use. I think better, easier access to videos might put it over the top

Great and getting better

Great app that, most importantly, tracks your exact lifting data, and offers a host of additional, helpful items, like an adjustable rest timer, weight plate visuals to tell you how much and which plates go on the bar, and more. Updates are frequent enough to address concerns, and it therefore continues to improve its usefulness to barbell training.

Great App

Just a big of a must have as the book if youre doing the Starting Strength program. Love the fact it calculates my warm ups automatically.

Underwhelmed

I thought youd plug in you 1 RMs and it would give your percentages to hit that day. Like a Medium day, light day, and a PR day. Aka Texas Method but instead all it is a incremental linear progression. Maybe you can set up that way but I havent seen any options. So pretty much its a glorified notebook and stop watch for 9 dollars.

Easy to navigate, calculates your warm ups, and graphs progress. All that you need with nothing to get in the way.

Great App / Program

This app works great. I highly recommend reading both Starting Strength & the Novice chapter of Practical Programming before starting the program. You also have to eat and rest properly / enough or, as Rip says repeatedly, YNDTP!

Lifting for first time since high school

If youve never lifted or have not lifted in a long time, this is simply the best app/program for building strength. Eat, sleep and work your tail off in the gym and you cant help but get stronger.

Caveat for the old and/or weak

The lowest weight you can set for an exercise is 45# (the bare Oly bar). For those of us who can’t life that much (my press is weak), the app is useless for tracking workouts. Hopefully this will be fixed quickly as I’m eager to use it.

No advanced novice?

This is okay but the lack of advanced novice programming is disappointing. Also, I see no way of changing it if you clean on a different day.
